Suzanne
McCormick is a founding member of ICWC
and one of the Directing Attorneys. Suzanne graduated
from the University of Oregon School of Law in 1997.
Since law school she has been dedicated to providing
legal services to at risk youth and victims of domestic
violence. Suzanne worked as a staff attorney at Public
Counsel Law Center in Los Angeles. While at Public
Counsel, she represented clients in probate guardianship,
violence against women act, and special immigrant juvenile
cases. She was the project coordinator for the Guardianship
Volunteer Program, a pro per clinic at the central
district courthouse, which assists unrepresented litigants.
In 2002, Suzanne co-authored Abandon Probate Court
for Abandoned Children: Combining Probate Guardianship
of the Person and Dependency into one Stronger, Fairer
Children's Court in the Spring 2003 Southern California
Review of Law and Women's Studies. Suzanne is active
in many immigration and child advocacy groups in the
Los Angeles area. Suzanne is also a member of the American

Aman
Thind is a founding member of ICWC
and one of the Directing Attorneys. Aman graduated
from UCLA in 1995 and received a JD from Boalt Hall
in 1998. Since graduating from law school, she has
been active in providing legal services and advocacy
for the poor. After working as a staff attorney with
Public Counsel Law Center's Child Care Law Project
in Los Angeles for three years, Aman worked as a staff
attorney at Legal Services for Children in San Francisco,
where she represented children and youth in the areas
of probate, immigration, dependency, and education
law. While at Legal Services for Children, Aman worked
on the Detained Immigrant Children's Project, representing
unaccompanied minors detained by the INS. Aman is a
member of the Southern California South Asian Bar Association,
is on the Pro Bono Committee of the National South
Asian Bar Association, and is active in many immigration
and child advocacy groups in the Los Angeles area.
Aman is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers
Association. In addition, Aman is on the board of the
Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles and serves
as the Domestic Violence Committee Chair. Email Aman
